My research is predominantly within the field of cancer epigenetics. My work is highly translational, with much of my current work focussed upon epigenetic changes in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia and how knowledge of these can be utilised to understand disease progression and improve patient outcomes. I also maintain an interest in fundamental epigenetic processes and changes in response to environmental exposures.​

My career to date has taken me to different institutes in the UK, USA and Germany.
