Research interests

I have worked in the field of epigenetics for more than a decade. I am primarily interested in cancer epigenetics, but my work also encompasses the influence of environmental and lifestyle factors upon the epigenome, the maintenance of normal DNA methylation patterns, and epigenetic models of ageing.

Studies examining epigenetic changes in solid tumours and leukaemias. My recent work has particularly focussed upon chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL).

Collaborative studies investigating the impact of a range of environmental exposures and lifestyle factors on the epigenome and the epitranscriptome.

Understanding the maintenance of epigenetic traits in the cell and how this is impaired over time. Includes work on understanding epigenetic models of ageing.
